EI-HFD is a Boeing Stearman E75 (A75N1). It was build in the U.S.A. on 1st May 1943 and was powered by a Lycoming R680-17-B4E radial engine. It was used by the United States Navy.
In 1981 the aircraft was dismantled and shipped to the UK, where it was rebuilt. It had over 1,500 flying hours at that point. After some time in the UK, the aircraft was sold to Cathal Ryan (RIP) in Ireland. It was painted with the Spirit of Tipperary logo.
The aircraft remained in private ownership in Ireland until 2016, when the aircraft was transferred to the Irish Historic Flight Foundation. It was entered on the Irish civil register as EI-HFD. It still carries the Spirit of Tipperary markings.
