EI-HFB was originally UK’s Royal Air Force WD.305 Chipmunk T.10. Built by The De Havilland Company, WD.305 was Serial Number C1.0247. It flew over 4,500 Flight Hours with the RAF before being converted in 1962 for civilian use and being registered with the UK CAA as G-ARGG.
Since entering into civilian use, G-ARGG flew for another 6,000 Flight Hours with Air Navigation & Trading Co. Ltd, Blackpool. With the exception of 1977-1987, the aircraft was regularly flown. In 1987, the aircraft transferred into private ownership and the aircraft was re-covered in ceconite fabric.
EI-HFB transferred to the Irish Civil register, owned by Irish Historic Flight Foundation in May 2015.
