Shannon to stage dazzling airshow to celebrate 70th anniversary of first commercial transatlantic flight. Family fun day to also include wide array of free activities on the ground. The Newcastle Festival of Flight returns to Newcastle, Co Down on the 8th of August 2015 with amazing air displays, exhibitions, live music, street entertainment and so much more. The Irish Light Aviation Society (ILAS) was formed in 2009 when members of CAACI (Classic Aircraft & Aerobatic Club of Ireland) and SAAC (Society of Amateur Aircraft Constructors) decided to merge both organisations. The purpose of the organisation is to facilitate the construction, restoration and operation of aircraft for recreation in Ireland.
